Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi on Friday (August 7, 2026) announced its foray into large home appliances ecosystem in India under its home and lifestyle sub-brand Mijia. It already sells air purifiers and robotic vacuum cleaners under the home category. Going forward, their home and lifestyle products will carry the Mijia by Xiaomi branding in India.

This new entry will put Xiaomi into direct competition with existing and established brands like Samsung and LG in India.

Xiaomi has been selling smartphones since past 12 years in India under three names: Xiaomi, Redmi and Poco. Later, it went on to add smart TVs, tablets and other AIoT products.

Xiaomi has been working on their Human × Car × Home approach since 2023, a strategy that claims to connect personal devices, electric vehicles and smart home products through Xiaomi HyperOS.
