An eerie, glowing orb appeared to hang frozen in the Colorado sky for six hours, leaving witnesses unable to explain what they had seen.
A fencing crew noticed the brilliant white object near New Castle at approximately 11am and said it remained in the same position until they left the area around 4:30pm.
Images and footage from the encounter show what appears to be a luminous, almost perfectly circular object against the clear blue sky.
John Smith captured the eerie object in the sky, telling the Daily Mail: '[It was] perfectly round and transparent through binoculars, almost like a ball of energy.'
He added that the orb displayed no obvious movement despite being watched throughout the working day.
Adding to the mystery, the crew claimed this was not their first encounter with the unexplained object.
'We saw the second orb a week later about 50 miles away on another jobsite, same exact situation,' said Smith. 'The orb stayed in place the entire day.'
The photograph alone cannot establish the object’s size, altitude or distance from the camera, leaving open more conventional explanations such as a balloon or an optical effect.

But its apparent ability to remain fixed for hours, and its alleged appearance in two different places, has left the witnesses searching for answers.
Smith shared the footage and image in a Facebook group, where users offered numerous explanations for the mysterious sighting.
‘I honestly think this is a daytime plasma orb, which doesn’t happen often!’ one user said.
Several others argued that the object was nothing more than a weather balloon.
